The Estimates Committee of the Parliament recommended the setting up of a Service Selection Commission in its 47th report (1967-68) for conducting examinations for recruitment to lower categories of posts. Later in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, On 4th November 1975 Government of India constituted a Commission called the Subordinate Services Commission. On 26th September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission renamed into Staff Selection Commission. The functions of the Staff Selection Commission were redefined by the Government of India through Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in 21st May 1999. Then the new constitution and functions of the Staff Selection Commission came into effect from 1st June 1999.

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold on Sunday, the 15/12/2013 an open competitive examination for recruitment to the following posts  in various Offices/ Departments under Department of of Official Language all over country.

Junior Translators in CSOLs Examination, 2013:

  • Junior Translators (CSOLs) (Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted): No. of posts will determined in due course,  Pay Scale : Rs. 9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs. 4200/-, Age Limit : 30 years as on 01/08/2013. Relaxation as per Govt. rules.

Fee: Rs. 100/- in the form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps available at Post Office. No fee for SC/ST/PH/Ex-Servicemen and Women candidates.

Closing Date: The last date for receipt of application in the commission will be 30/08/2013. For those candidates who are living in remote areas, the last date will be 06/09/2013.

Cantre of Examination and Address to which Applications should be sent: The applications should be addressed to the Regional Office of the SSC  for a particular test center/state where candidate wants to apply as stated in the detailed advertisement.
